We are a theoretical physics research group in the Physics Department at Northeastern University. We have broad interests in condensed matter physics that range from confined electrons at the nanoscale to frustrated magnetism in macroscopic samples. Our research focuses primarily on interaction effects in quantum many-body systems. The theoretical methods we use range from numerics to powerful non-perturbative analytical techniques. Often experiments are a strong motivation for the problems we work on.

Recent topics of interest in the group are topological metals and insulators, quantum magnetism, spin transport in non-collinear magnets, Floquet systems, and materials driven by light. We are especially interested in finding and studying unusual phases of matter with unfamiliar and surprising properties.
